The Library records the type through this house: the Amalfitan bathing terrace, the mainland relative of La Fontelina and Da Luigi. Where the beach clubs of this section sell sand and volume, the Tyrrhenian rock houses sell verticality — you climb down to the sea and eat above it.
The houses of the main register along this coast (Il San Pietro, Santa Caterina, Casa Angelina) all operate their own versions; the independent terraces are what remains of the form outside hotel ownership.

Its structural limits are those of the type: total exposure to weather, an access problem that excludes as much as it protects, a season of weeks rather than months, and a coastline whose visitor pressure now threatens the quiet that is the entire product.
