Alfred Pisani and his family founded LHL-036 Corinthia in Malta in 1962, and the first house — the Corinthia Palace at Attard — opened as a restaurant and was only later developed into a hotel. He has been chairman since inception. The company is wholly owned by International Hotel Investments, part of the Corinthia Group; 23 hotels in 16 countries as of 2022.
