Le K2 Collections

Le K2 Collections is the Courchevel family group of Suzanne and Philippe Capezzone, built around three houses on the slopes of Courchevel 1850 and Le Praz: Le K2 Palace, Le K2 Altitude and Le K2 Djola, together with private chalets. Le K2 Palace, opened in 2011, holds the official French Palace distinction and anchored the family's rise; the collection has since become one of the Alps' most decorated addresses for gastronomy and spa. Operation is seasonal — the houses open for the winter — and entirely concentrated in one resort.

The brand

The Capezzone family conceived Le K2 as a Tibetan-inspired Alpine world: the name references the Karakoram peak, and the interiors combine chalet warmth with Himalayan art and objects collected by the family. Le K2 Palace comprises suites and chalets cascading down the slope with ski-in/ski-out access; Altitude stands higher on the mountain; Djola offers a younger, more compact register in the village.

Gastronomy carries the brand's reputation: the collection's restaurants have held two Michelin stars, and its Goji spas and La Datcha après-ski culture complete a self-contained winter universe. The family also lets private chalets with palace service, extending the collection into full-house stays.

Brand philosophy

The philosophy is the family-run palace: official Palace-level infrastructure delivered with the personal ownership of a maison. The Capezzones live the resort, know their guests across generations of seasons, and treat the houses as a family œuvre rather than assets.

The Tibetan thread is more than decoration — it frames the mountain as a spiritual landscape and gives the collection an identity distinct from Savoyard chalet convention. Combined with serious gastronomy and spa depth, the proposition is a complete winter residence rather than a ski hotel.

What distinguishes it

A family Palace. Le K2 Palace holds France's official Palace distinction while remaining family-owned and family-run — a rare combination in Courchevel.

Tibetan Alps. The Karakoram-inspired identity distinguishes the houses from every Savoyard-vernacular competitor.

Two-star altitude gastronomy. Michelin-starred dining at 1850 makes the collection a culinary destination in its own right.

Slope-integrated architecture. Palace and Altitude cascade down the mountain with direct ski access — the terrain is built into the houses.

One resort, total depth. Three hotels plus chalets in a single village give the family Courchevel coverage no outside brand matches.

WHO IT IS NOT FOR

Le K2 is a weak fit for summer travellers — the houses are winter-seasonal — and for guests seeking understated minimalism or an international network. The register is opulent, the season short and the market Courchevel's most demanding. Travellers wanting year-round Alpine access or a quieter aesthetic have other Alpine answers; Le K2 is winter theatre at Palace level.
