Evok Collection

Evok Collection is a Paris-born luxury hospitality group built around individual hotel personalities rather than a single visual template. Founded in 2014, it developed a sequence of deliberately different houses - Nolinski, Brach, Sinner and Cour des Vosges - before taking those ideas beyond Paris to Venice, Madrid and Rome.

Why Evok Matters

Evok belongs to the second generation of European lifestyle luxury: design is highly authored, restaurants and bars matter as much to locals as guestrooms, wellness is integrated into urban life, and each property is expected to have a strong cultural identity rather than merely satisfy a brand standard.

Pierre Bastid

Entrepreneur Pierre Bastid is one of the principal shareholders and founders behind Evok. His investment platform provided the capital base for building a collection of highly individual hospitality assets.

Romain Yzerman

Romain Yzerman is also identified in company and industry materials as a founder / shareholder, forming part of the ownership architecture behind Evok.

Emmanuel Sauvage

Emmanuel Sauvage is the key operating and creative executive, widely identified as co-founder and Managing Director. His role is central to turning ownership ambitions into a coherent hospitality collection.

2014 - Evok Hôtels Collection

The company was established in Paris in 2014 under the Evok Hôtels Collection name, with the intention of creating hotels that would each express a different lifestyle and emotional world.

From Evok Hôtels Collection to Evok Collection

The simplified current name reflects a business that now extends beyond conventional hotel rooms into residences, restaurants, bars, spas and broader lifestyle experiences.

A Collection of Personalities

The strongest Evok idea is that each house should have its own personality. Nolinski is refined and cultured; Brach is energetic and physical; Sinner is provocative and sensual; Cour des Vosges is intimate and historic.

No Universal Design Template

Evok does not make every property look alike. Recognition comes from intensity of design, service, food, cultural references and atmosphere rather than repeated furniture.

Paris as Laboratory

The first four concepts were all developed in Paris, allowing Evok to test radically different identities within one city before expanding internationally.

Nolinski Paris

Nolinski Paris is the collection's polished luxury expression, located on Avenue de l'Opéra near the Louvre and Palais Garnier.

Jean-Louis Deniot

Designer Jean-Louis Deniot created the Nolinski Paris interiors, combining classical references, contemporary art, blue-green tones, marble and highly composed residential spaces.

Nolinski as Contemporary Grand Hotel

Nolinski borrows the codes of the Paris grand hotel but compresses them into a more intimate, design-led and less ceremonial scale.

Restaurant Palais Royal

The Michelin-starred Restaurant Palais Royal extends the Nolinski world beyond the hotel itself and demonstrates Evok's willingness to treat gastronomy as a destination business.

Spa Nolinski by La Colline

The spa provides a quiet subterranean counterpoint to central Paris, with pool, treatments and a more classical luxury wellness language.

Brach Paris

Brach Paris is the collection's most expansive lifestyle concept: hotel, restaurant, sports club, rooftop, pastry, wellness and social life integrated into one western-Paris building.

Philippe Starck

Philippe Starck designed Brach Paris, using warm woods, raw materials, eclectic objects and a deliberately inhabited atmosphere.

Brach as Urban Clubhouse

Brach behaves less like a conventional hotel and more like a neighbourhood clubhouse in which locals can train, eat, drink, work and socialise.

The Sports Club

Brach's large sports and wellness programme is central to the concept rather than an ancillary hotel gym.

Rooftop and Kitchen Garden

The rooftop, garden and urban agriculture layer soften the dense city context and give Brach a seasonal social identity.

Brach Patisserie

The pastry shop extends the brand into everyday local consumption, allowing people to interact with Brach without entering the hotel as guests.

Sinner Paris

Sinner is the most provocative Evok house, located in the Marais and built around sensuality, historical references, religious imagery, darkness and nightlife energy.

Tristan Auer

Designer Tristan Auer created a theatrical environment that deliberately rejects neutral luxury.

Sacred and Profane

Sinner mixes monastic references, incense, stained glass, red light, music and contemporary sensuality, creating a hospitality identity around tension rather than harmony.

The Risk of Provocation

Provocative design creates strong memory but can date quickly or become costume. Sinner must remain a functioning luxury hotel beneath the concept.

Cour des Vosges

Cour des Vosges is the smallest and most residential Paris expression, overlooking Place des Vosges from a historic building.

Place des Vosges

The address itself is the central luxury asset: one of Paris's most historically coherent squares becomes part of the room experience.

Lecoadic Scotto

Designers Yann Le Coadic and Alessandro Scotto created an interior that combines historic architecture, contemporary art and a private-home atmosphere.

Eight Rooms

Cour des Vosges is exceptionally small, reinforcing the sense of staying in a private residence rather than a hotel.

Brach vs Cour des Vosges

The contrast between a large social Brach and an eight-room Cour des Vosges proves that Evok's common denominator is not scale.

Four Paris Personalities

Nolinski, Brach, Sinner and Cour des Vosges form a deliberately plural Paris portfolio: refined, energetic, transgressive and intimate.

International Expansion

After establishing multiple Paris concepts, Evok began exporting selected identities rather than simply opening generic Evok Hotels.

Nolinski Venezia

Nolinski Venezia brought the Nolinski identity to Venice in a former stock-exchange building near Piazza San Marco.

Venice and Heritage

The Venetian property demonstrates how Nolinski can retain refined luxury while responding to a far more historic and decorative urban context.

Le Palais Royal Venezia

The culinary and social spaces adapt the French-born concept to Venetian geography rather than reproducing Paris exactly.

Library and Rooftop

The hotel's library and rooftop provide intimate cultural and city-view spaces that distinguish it from larger Venetian palace hotels.

Brach Madrid

Brach Madrid extends the Brach concept into Spain and tests whether the urban-clubhouse model can travel beyond Paris.

Madrid as Lifestyle Market

Madrid's dining, nightlife, art and social culture provide a natural environment for Brach's all-day, local-facing model.

Philippe Starck in Madrid

The continuation of Starck's involvement gives Brach a stronger repeatable design authorship than some other Evok concepts.

Nolinski Roma

Nolinski Roma extends the collection into Rome and strengthens Nolinski as Evok's most internationally portable luxury identity.

Rome as the Third Nolinski City

With Paris, Venice and Rome, Nolinski is evolving from one hotel into a small European luxury sub-brand inside Evok.

The Nolinski Question

As Nolinski expands, Evok must decide how much visual and service consistency the name requires without undermining destination specificity.

Current Portfolio - August 2026

The live Evok architecture supports seven operating hotels: four in Paris plus Nolinski Venezia, Brach Madrid and Nolinski Roma.

Why Portfolio Dating Matters

Evok is actively expanding and its international projects have moved through announcement, construction and opening phases. LHL counts only properties represented as live operating hotels.

Evok Homes

Evok Homes extends the collection into private residences and apartments, offering a more residential version of the group's service and design philosophy.

From Hotel Guest to Resident

Homes allow Evok to sell privacy, space and longer stays without forcing every customer into the public life of a hotel.

Restaurants as Independent Destinations

Evok's restaurants are expected to compete in their cities rather than function only as breakfast rooms for hotel guests.

Gastronomy

Food is one of the principal ways each concept establishes personality: refined dining at Nolinski, energetic all-day social dining at Brach and more theatrical experiences at Sinner.

Bars

Bars are cultural and social stages, particularly in the Paris lifestyle properties.

Wellness

Wellness changes character by brand: refined spa at Nolinski, sports and performance at Brach, sensorial retreat at Sinner.

Wellness Without One Doctrine

Evok does not impose one master wellness philosophy. Each concept uses wellbeing to reinforce its own personality.

Art

Contemporary art, objects and commissioned pieces are recurring components, but their role changes from cultured refinement to provocation depending on the house.

Music

Music is especially important at Brach and Sinner, helping public spaces move from daytime hospitality toward evening social life.

Local Guests

The strongest Evok restaurants, clubs and bars depend on local participation. This prevents the hotels from becoming sealed visitor environments.

The Hotel as Urban Stage

Evok's city hotels are designed to participate in urban life rather than provide escape from it.

Service Philosophy

Service must adapt to each personality while remaining precise and warm. A guest should not receive the same emotional choreography at Sinner and Nolinski.

Luxury Through Freedom

Evok's broader language frequently emphasizes freedom and emotion rather than traditional luxury hierarchy.

Luxury Through Design

Highly authored interiors create immediate identity and strong visual memory.

Luxury Through Culture

Art, architecture, gastronomy and neighbourhood context allow each property to function as a cultural proposition.

Luxury Through Social Energy

Brach and Sinner in particular demonstrate that luxury can be collective and energetic rather than quiet and private.

Luxury Through Intimacy

Cour des Vosges demonstrates the opposite: scarcity, privacy and residential scale can exist inside the same collection.

No Conventional Loyalty Programme

The current official consumer platform does not present a proprietary points-and-tiers loyalty programme. Repeat business is relationship-led and direct-booking-led.

The Advantage of Sub-Brands

Nolinski, Brach and Sinner can develop distinct equity instead of being reduced to property names under one master flag.

The Risk of Sub-Brands

Multiple hotel identities make Evok harder to explain and can leave the master brand less recognised than its individual houses.

The Advantage of Paris Depth

Four very different Paris hotels give Evok unusually deep knowledge of one luxury market and allow guests to choose between personalities without leaving the collection.

The Risk of Paris Dependence

Despite international expansion, Paris remains the historical and conceptual centre. Market shocks affecting the city have disproportionate impact.

Comparison with Experimental Group

Experimental similarly grew from nightlife and food into hotels with strong lifestyle identities. Evok operates at a more consistently luxury level and uses more highly authored interior design.

Comparison with Maisons Pariente

Maisons Pariente is family-owned, smaller and strongly residential, with French resort and city houses. Evok is more urban, social and concept-driven.

Comparison with Beaumier

Beaumier is more resort- and landscape-led, building a coherent European leisure collection. Evok is more city-oriented and culturally theatrical.

Comparison with Airelles

Airelles operates at a higher ultra-luxury tier with palace-like service and exceptional resort assets. Evok is more contemporary, lifestyle-driven and socially porous.

Comparison with Proper Hotels

Proper and Evok both rely heavily on distinctive designers, restaurants and local social life. Proper has Kelly Wearstler as a unifying author; Evok deliberately distributes authorship among Deniot, Starck, Auer and others.

Comparison with The Standard

The Standard is more global and more consistently coded around nightlife, fashion and provocation. Evok spans a broader emotional spectrum from Sinner's provocation to Nolinski's refinement.

Comparison with Soho House

Soho House is built around membership and recurring private community. Evok uses open hotels, restaurants and clubs to generate social energy without making membership the master product.

The Advantage of Creative Pluralism

Different designers and concepts allow Evok to avoid the visual fatigue that can affect single-aesthetic hotel brands.

The Risk of Creative Pluralism

Without strong curation, pluralism can become incoherence. The master brand must explain why radically different hotels belong together.

The Advantage of Founder-Led Scale

A relatively compact portfolio allows ownership and senior leadership to remain close to product and design decisions.

The Risk of Expansion

International growth can tempt Evok to replicate successful concepts too quickly. Nolinski and Brach must remain emotionally specific to each city.

The Risk of Lifestyle Convergence

Design hotels, destination restaurants, rooftops, spas and DJs are now common luxury tools. Evok's differentiation depends on the quality and originality of execution.

The Risk of Designer Dependence

Strong properties are closely associated with major designers. Future renovations and expansion must preserve identity even when individual creative partnerships change.

The Risk of Concept Over Hotel

A memorable concept cannot compensate for weak sleep, acoustics, maintenance or service. The more theatrical the hotel, the less tolerance guests have for ordinary operational failures.

What the Model Does Not Solve

Distinct personalities do not automatically create a coherent collection, and design authorship does not automatically create hospitality. Restaurants and social spaces can overpower the needs of overnight guests; provocative concepts can age; and international replication can weaken local authenticity. Evok succeeds when each house remains a real hotel first and a concept second.

What Distinguishes Evok Collection

FOUNDED IN PARIS IN 2014. A COLLECTION OF DISTINCT LUXURY HOTEL PERSONALITIES RATHER THAN ONE STANDARDIZED BRAND. FOUR FOUNDATIONAL PARIS HOUSES - NOLINSKI, BRACH, SINNER AND COUR DES VOSGES - FOLLOWED BY INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION THROUGH NOLINSKI VENEZIA, BRACH MADRID AND NOLINSKI ROMA. DESIGNERS INCLUDING JEAN-LOUIS DENIOT, PHILIPPE STARCK, TRISTAN AUER AND LECOADIC SCOTTO AS CREATIVE AUTHORS. HOTELS, RESTAURANTS, BARS, WELLNESS AND EVOK HOMES AS THE WIDER LIFESTYLE PLATFORM.

The Strategic Achievement

Evok's achievement is to build scale through difference. Instead of repeating one successful hotel, it created several distinct hospitality personalities and is now selectively turning the strongest of those personalities into European sub-brands.

The Hospitality Lesson

The Evok lesson is that a collection can be coherent through creative ambition rather than visual sameness. The discipline lies in giving every property a clear reason to exist, then protecting hotel fundamentals beneath the design and social theatre.

Editorial Note

LHL records seven current operating Evok hotels as of 22 August 2026: Nolinski Paris, Brach Paris, Sinner Paris, Cour des Vosges, Nolinski Venezia, Brach Madrid and Nolinski Roma. Evok Homes is treated as a separate residential layer. No proprietary consumer points-and-tiers loyalty programme was identified on the current official platform.
