1 · POSITION
The transformation of the shop on the rue de Sèvres from 1852 is recorded as the work of Aristide and Marguerite Boucicaut, and she survived him by a decade.
2 · WHY SHE IS IN THE LIBRARY
§21 records a line where one exists, and here it does: the house did not pass to a successor by accident but continued under the second of the two people who made it. The Library holds her because the register should not carry a house whose founding accounts name two people and whose entries name one.
3 · ⚑ WHAT IS NOT ESTABLISHED
This entry is thin. Her role in the business during Aristide’s lifetime, what she did after 1877, and the disposal of the house are not established here, and the entry says so rather than assuming. It should be completed before it is cited.
