Position
Sylvain Floirat — LHL-P-368 Sylvain Floirat — was a wheelwright’s son who built an industrial group across aviation and broadcasting, and in September 1967 bought Byblos Saint-Tropez three months after it opened. His great-grandson Antoine Chevanne, LHL-P-369 Antoine Chevanne, has run the group since 2006 and renamed it **Floirat Signatures in 2025**. It holds Byblos, Les Caves du Roy, La Réserve Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Les Manoirs de Tourgéville.
⚑ The house it bought, and the man who lost it
Byblos was built by Jean-Prosper Gay-Para — LHL-P-370 Jean-Prosper Gay-Para — in 1967, for a Saint-Tropez he had discovered through Brigitte Bardot. He sold it within months. The Library holds both men because the house had two authors: one who made it and one who kept it, and only the second name is on the group.
Candour
The renaming to Floirat Signatures is recent and much published material still says Groupe Floirat. Under §20 the register carries the current name and this entry records the change with its date.
