ITC Hotels

ITC entered hospitality in 1975. The business now operating as ITC Hotels carries that history, but its separation from ITC took effect on 1 January 2025. The distinction matters: an established hotel operation can acquire a new corporate structure without beginning its guest-facing history again. [1, 2]

1 · POSITION

ITC entered hospitality in 1975. The business now operating as ITC Hotels carries that history, but its separation from ITC took effect on 1 January 2025. The distinction matters: an established hotel operation can acquire a new corporate structure without beginning its guest-facing history again. [1, 2]

2 · REGIONAL COOKING INSIDE THE HOTEL

ITC’s restaurant names make Indian culinary traditions an identifiable part of its offer. Bukhara at ITC Maurya presents cooking associated with the North West Frontier; Dum Pukht centres on Awadhi recipes and slow cooking. These are specific culinary propositions, giving the hotel restaurant a subject of its own rather than treating it simply as a service attached to rooms. [3]

3 · WHAT RESPONSIBILITY MEASURES

The group uses Responsible Luxury as its governing promise. Its corporate account states that all owned ITC Hotels and Welcomhotels hold LEED Platinum certification. The scope of that sentence is important: it refers to owned hotels in the named categories. It should not be expanded automatically to every managed, franchised or differently branded property in the wider business. [1]

4 · EVIDENCE AT BUILDING LEVEL

The U.S. Green Building Council’s hospitality report profiles ITC Windsor’s LEED Platinum certification for an existing building, including water-management measures. A named property and a defined assessment are more informative than an unrestricted environmental adjective. They allow the reader to understand what was examined and to separate building performance from the many other effects of a hotel stay. [4]

5 · ⚑ CANDOUR

Responsible Luxury is the company’s positioning, not a complete independent verdict on its operations. Certification provides evidence within a particular framework; it does not establish that travel or hotel consumption has no environmental cost. Likewise, the 2025 demerger describes a legal change, while 1975 remains the starting date of the hospitality business. Both belong in the record. [1, 2, 4]
