1 · POSITION
Em Sherif began in Beirut in 2011 under Mireille Hayek. Its name, meaning the mother of Sherif, places a family relationship at the entrance to an international restaurant business. The proposition carries Lebanese cooking and the sense of a generous household table into formal dining rooms, with Hayek's daughter Yasmina contributing to its next stage. [1, 2]
2 · THE HOME AS REFERENCE
The brand's history describes a restaurant named for Mireille's son and shaped around her approach to receiving guests. This gives the hospitality a personal author as well as a culinary identity. The family reference is especially useful when following the business abroad: the name carries a memory of home even when the dining room occupies a department store or a grand hotel. [1]
3 · A TABLE INSIDE HARRODS
At Harrods, Em Sherif occupies the second floor. The store describes a menu delivered by Yasmina, including warm za'atar man'oushe, hummus with sautéed Wagyu beef, fattouch and falafel. Familiar Lebanese preparations remain recognisable while the ingredients and setting reflect a luxury retail address. The London restaurant offers an à la carte format, allowing guests to assemble their own version of the shared table. [2, 3]
4 · A SEASON IN MONTE-CARLO
Société des Bains de Mer records Yasmina's leadership of Em Sherif at Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo from 2 April 2022. Its announcement of a second season in 2023 confirms a further European setting for the concept. Harrods and Hôtel de Paris give the expansion two different hosts, while the family and culinary references provide continuity between them. [4]
5 · ⚑ CANDOUR
⚑ Em Sherif's restaurant, café and other formats should not be collapsed into one identical service model. The London dishes and à la carte arrangement describe that address. The dated Monaco account establishes its early seasons, not an unchanged calendar for every subsequent year. [2–4]
