Erth

Erth places contemporary Emirati cooking within Abu Dhabi's Al Hosn cultural setting. The name means legacy, but the restaurant expresses that idea through current design and a menu prepared for present-day diners. Michelin's 2026 Abu Dhabi selection retained its one-star distinction, giving the local culinary proposition a clearly dated point of recognition. [1, 2]

1 · POSITION

Erth places contemporary Emirati cooking within Abu Dhabi's Al Hosn cultural setting. The name means legacy, but the restaurant expresses that idea through current design and a menu prepared for present-day diners. Michelin's 2026 Abu Dhabi selection retained its one-star distinction, giving the local culinary proposition a clearly dated point of recognition. [1, 2]

2 · A MAJLIS IN SECTION

BONE's design revisits the majlis through seating areas carved into a raised floor. The arrangement gives hospitality a spatial reference without reproducing an old domestic room literally. Guests sit within a contemporary construction whose levels and enclosures recall a familiar way of gathering. Fabric and planting soften the setting and create more intimate areas within the larger space. [3]

3 · THE KITCHEN REMAINS VISIBLE

The architects retained the existing concrete structure and introduced a kitchen volume made with acid-washed steel and cut travertine. Openings frame moments of preparation, allowing cooking to become part of the dining room's activity. A natural-clay finish on the raised floor reinforces the material character. The design is therefore tied to the work of cooking as well as to the social form of the majlis. [3]

4 · LOCAL REFERENCES ON THE PLATE

Michelin describes ingredients from farms across the Emirates and a menu anchored in Emirati flavours and cookware. Its examples include lamb machboos with a sweet-savoury teriyaki preparation and Liwa dates batheeta. These details show a restaurant willing to alter technique and seasoning while retaining identifiable dishes and ingredients. The cultural setting supplies context; the plate must carry the culinary argument itself. [1]

5 · ⚑ CANDOUR

⚑ This entry concerns Erth Restaurant at Al Hosn. Its star and BONE interior should not be attributed automatically to other venues using Erth's name. The dishes cited are Michelin's examples, rather than a guarantee of the menu served on every visit. [1–3]
