Contribution to hospitalityThe return of cabaret to luxury nightlife — dinner as the first act of a show

1 · Opening

Lío is not on a beach. It sits on the water at Marina Botafoch facing the old town, and it exists to prove that the Ibiza night can begin at a dinner table.

2 · Why it matters

The house revived a form that luxury hospitality had abandoned: the supper club, where a meal is the opening act and performers work the room between courses. Pacha, whose club culture defined the island from the 1970s, built it as the counter-argument to the superclub — seated, theatrical, expensive and finished before dawn.

Its influence runs wider than Ibiza. The dinner-show format now appears in Dubai, Mykonos, Marbella and London, generally under operators who saw it here first.

3 · Signature & ritual

Dinner facing Dalt Vila, a cabaret that begins between courses, and a room that converts into a club at a fixed hour. Costume and choreography are the fixed assets.

4 · What this house does not solve

A show is a payroll. Unlike a beach club, whose overheads leave with the season, a cabaret carries a company of performers whose cost does not fall when the room is thin.

The format has been widely copied at lower quality, which devalues the original by association — a dinner show is now a genre with a bad reputation in most markets.

And it belongs to a nightlife group whose fortunes it shares: when the island's club economy shifts or ownership changes ⚑, a venue of this cost has little room to adapt.

7 · LHL story

“Dinner as the First Act” — The island that invented the superclub answered itself with a supper club: a seated dinner facing the old town, interrupted by a cabaret, finished before the night clubs open.
