Flavio Briatore

Flavio Briatore established Billionaire in Porto Cervo in 1998. The venue connected nightlife with the social world of a luxury resort, and the later business developed dining and entertainment formats under the Majestas umbrella. His relevance is the creation and expansion of that hospitality proposition, not his fame in motor racing alone. [1, 2]

2 · THE FOUNDER AS A DRAW

UCL School of Management’s case-study abstract identifies Briatore’s network and public identity as important to the early venues. It also states the business problem this created: brands needed to become sustainable beyond the founder’s personal magnetism. Visibility could attract a public, but it was not a complete operating system. [2]

3 · A MANAGEMENT ENTERPRISE

The same account names Patrizia Spinelli and Francesco Menegazzo in the subsequent work on differentiation and growth. Their inclusion matters. The move from a founder-led destination to several repeatable formats required management and clear distinctions between the brands as well as a recognisable public figure. [2]

4 · OWNERSHIP CHANGES THE STORY

In February 2025, ANSA reported LMDV Hospitality’s acquisition of Twiga. Monaco Tribune’s account identified four venues in the agreement, including Billionaire Porto Cervo, and reported plans to convert that location to Twiga. The transaction must be distinguished from ownership of the entire international Billionaire brand. The announced conversion is not treated here as proof of its completion. [3, 4]

5 · ⚑ CANDOUR

⚑ Briatore’s own biography describes an earlier portfolio and cannot serve as a current ownership list. The 2025 transaction supersedes that account for the transferred interests. This profile focuses on hospitality rather than attempting a complete motor-racing or legal biography. It credits the founder’s concept and network while preserving the roles of partners, managers and subsequent owners.
