L+R Hotels belongs to a property investment business whose hospitality activity includes ownership, investment and hotel operations. The distinction is useful: a guest may know a property's individual name or an international hotel brand while the capital and operating organisation behind it sit elsewhere. L+R's own account places hospitality within its wider investment structure. [1]

2 · SEVERAL ROUTES TO THE GUEST

The group's hotel strategy includes city properties associated with Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Accor, alongside its own Iconic Hotels & Resorts platform. These relationships offer different ways of bringing a building to market. An investor's portfolio need not carry one name above every entrance, even when the businesses share financial backing and a common investment organisation. [1]

3 · ICONIC GAINS A WIDER FRAME

In February 2026, L+R introduced an initial Iconic Hotels & Resorts portfolio of fourteen properties. The announcement placed country-house hotels such as Cliveden and Chewton Glen alongside urban addresses and resorts in Europe and the United States. The collection's scope therefore extends across different kinds of stay, rather than one uniform architectural or service format. [2]

4 · A PLATFORM DEVELOPS OVER TIME

An earlier 2020 announcement described Iconic Luxury Hotels, founded in 2016, as part of L+R Hotels and set out plans for international expansion. Read beside the 2026 announcement, it documents a developing organisation. 5 · ⚑ CANDOUR

⚑ L+R describes Iconic as an integrated, owned platform; that wording should not be extended automatically to every relationship elsewhere in the group's portfolio. Fourteen is the count attached to the February 2026 announcement, not a permanent total. A property's brand affiliation should remain distinct from its ownership and day-to-day management, with the precise relationship checked for each hotel. [1–3]
