Kingdom Holding

Kingdom Holding appears in hospitality both behind individual hotels and within the companies whose names they carry. Founded by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the investment company reports interests in landmark properties including George V in Paris and the Savoy in London, alongside holdings in hotel groups. 1 · POSITION

Kingdom Holding appears in hospitality both behind individual hotels and within the companies whose names they carry. Founded by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the investment company reports interests in landmark properties including George V in Paris and the Savoy in London, alongside holdings in hotel groups. These are related investments, but they are not interchangeable forms of ownership.[1]

2 · TWO HOTELS IN THE ACCOUNTS

The 2024 annual report identifies full ownership of the group holding George V and a 58.96 per cent interest in Breezeroad, the company owning the Savoy. It separately names Fairmont as the Savoy's operator. Such distinctions bring the celebrated addresses into focus: an investor's economic interest, the property-owning company and the operator each occupy a different place in the same hotel.[1]

3 · A STAKE IN THE HOTEL COMPANY

On 4 January 2022, Kingdom Hotel Investments reported completion of an affiliate's sale of a 23.75 per cent interest in Four Seasons to a Cascade affiliate. Kingdom's 2024 report records a remaining 23.75 per cent holding. Selling shares in the hotel company was not equivalent to selling every individual Four Seasons property in which Kingdom had an interest.[1, 2]

4 · BUILDING ANOTHER ADDRESS

A different arrangement appeared in October 2023, when Kingdom Holding and Red Sea Global announced a SAR 2 billion joint venture to develop and own a Four Seasons resort on Shura Island. The announcement assigned development and ownership to the venture while identifying the hospitality brand. It extends the company's story beyond acquiring established European landmarks.[3]

5 · ⚑ CANDOUR

⚑ The percentages above are dated to the disclosed transaction and 2024 report; they are not an assertion of an unchanged ownership register indefinitely. The Shura announcement establishes a development agreement, not an opening date. Kingdom's importance becomes clearer when these distinctions are retained instead of reducing its portfolio to a list of famous hotel names.[1–3]
