Impression by Secrets is Hyatt's highest-positioned adults-only all-inclusive resort brand within the Inclusive Collection. Hyatt's development platform describes it as delivering the highest level of luxury all-inclusive service and amenities in its portfolio. The brand is intentionally small and intimate. Hyatt currently lists only two open resorts: Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets and Impression Moxché by Secrets, both in Mexico. For LHL, Impression belongs in luxury all-inclusive rather than conventional resort luxury. Its strategic importance lies in Hyatt's attempt to prove that an all-inclusive operating model can support butler service, large suites, serious gastronomy, privacy and highly personalised hospitality.
Origins in Secrets & AMResorts
Impression grew from the Secrets Resorts & Spas ecosystem created within AMResorts and later brought into Hyatt through the acquisition of Apple Leisure Group. Secrets had already established a large adults-only all-inclusive model. Impression takes selected elements of that system and moves them upward: smaller-scale environments, larger suites, more personal service and a more ambitious culinary proposition. The 'by Secrets' endorsement is therefore important. Impression is a distinct brand, but its commercial and operating heritage comes directly from the Secrets all-inclusive platform.
Launch as a Brand - 2023
Hyatt formally announced Impression by Secrets as a new Inclusive Collection brand in May 2023 with the opening of Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets. Hyatt described the new concept as ultra-exclusive and adults-only and said it was defined by the highest level of luxury all-inclusive service possible. Impression Moxché had already established the elevated product concept; the 2023 launch clarified Impression as a distinct brand architecture rather than merely an enhanced category within Secrets.
Endless Privileges®
Elevated Endless Privileges® is the operating core of Impression. The objective is to remove the transactional feel that can undermine luxury in conventional all-inclusive resorts. Current inclusions highlighted by Hyatt include dedicated butler service, unlimited premium spirits, artisanal à la carte dining, 24-hour concierge and in-suite dining, pool and beach service, multiple daily housekeeping touches, selected laundry, Wi-Fi, taxes and gratuities and a complimentary wellness treatment. The important distinction is not simply that more items are included. Impression attempts to make inclusion feel effortless and personal rather than buffet-led or mass-market.
Butler Service
Dedicated butler service is one of the clearest differences between Impression and mainstream Secrets. Hyatt describes butlers as curating daily itineraries and assisting with unpacking, excursions, private dinners, baths and other personal arrangements. This pushes the operating model closer to traditional luxury-resort hospitality, where recognition and anticipation matter more than the number of included amenities.
All-Suite Luxury
Impression is an all-suite brand. Space, terraces, private soaking features and ocean views are central to the physical product. Impression Moxché has 198 suites, with accommodation beginning at roughly 1,000 square feet according to Hyatt's current room description. The resort also includes large penthouses and a beachfront presidential villa. At Isla Mujeres, suites use terraces, Mayan tubs and ocean views to create a more intimate island-resort experience.
Gastronomy
Curated gastronomy is a central brand pillar. Hyatt explicitly positions Impression around artisanal cuisine prepared by master chefs rather than the volume dining traditionally associated with all-inclusive resorts. At Impression Moxché, Teodoro is a signature tasting-menu restaurant and Hyatt notes its AAA Five Diamond recognition. Hyatt has also used the Impression Makers Supper Club to bring prominent culinary personalities into the resorts, reinforcing the ambition to make dining a reason to choose the property rather than simply an inclusion.
Impression Moxché by Secrets
Impression Moxché by Secrets is the larger of the two operating resorts and is located near Playa del Carmen on the Riviera Maya. The resort combines 198 expansive suites with infinity pools, beach-club spaces, butler service, spa, extensive dining and the elevated Endless Privileges® structure. Hyatt currently identifies it as a AAA Five Diamond resort. Its importance to the brand is as the proof that a large all-inclusive system can be reorganised around privacy, suite scale and luxury service.
Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets
Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets is the more intimate island expression and the property with which Hyatt formally launched Impression as a brand in 2023. The resort is built into the southern side of Isla Mujeres and uses tiered infinity pools, overwater cabanas, spa facilities and direct access to the Caribbean landscape. An exclusive catamaran connection from the mainland is part of the arrival experience. Hyatt's current schedule shows multiple daily transfers between Marina Hacienda del Mar and the resort.
Privacy & Adults-Only Positioning
Impression is adults-only and deliberately romantic in tone. Privacy, couples travel and celebration are more central than family entertainment. This differentiates it from Hyatt Ziva and many mainstream all-inclusive resorts whose operating model must accommodate children, large groups and high-volume activity schedules. The result is closer to a couples-oriented luxury resort, but with most dining, drinks and service already incorporated into the rate.
Wellness
Wellness supports the Impression experience through spa, fitness, in-suite amenities and selected complimentary treatments. Hyatt currently includes a 20-minute wellness experience within Endless Privileges®, while both resorts provide broader spa menus. Impression is not a wellness resort in the Miraval or Devarana sense. Wellness is an elevated inclusion within a romantic luxury all-inclusive stay, not the organising purpose of the brand.
Impression vs. Secrets
Secrets Resorts & Spas is a much larger adults-only all-inclusive brand designed for broad upscale and luxury leisure demand. Impression sits above it. The main differences are intimacy, suite scale, butler service, more ambitious gastronomy, higher-touch inclusions and a stronger emphasis on privacy. Impression should therefore not be described simply as a club level of Secrets. Hyatt now treats it as a separate brand with its own development standards and two dedicated operating resorts.
Impression within Hyatt
Hyatt continues to place Impression within its Inclusive Collection. That is strategically important because the brand is defined first by its all-inclusive operating model, even though its physical and service standards reach into luxury territory. Hyatt's development page explicitly labels the product 'All-Inclusive Luxury' and describes Impression as delivering the highest service and amenity level in the portfolio. Thus LHL should preserve both dimensions: Impression is luxury, but specifically luxury all-inclusive.
Competitive Position
Grand Velas is one of the closest independent comparisons because it has long argued that serious gastronomy, large suites and high service can coexist with all-inclusive pricing. Hyatt Zilara is another adults-only Hyatt all-inclusive concept but operates at a broader and less exclusive level. Zoëtry uses a smaller-scale Endless Privileges® philosophy with stronger wellness and tranquillity cues, while Impression is more overtly indulgent and luxury-service-led. Traditional luxury resorts such as One&Only or Rosewood generally use à la carte pricing and can deliver greater operational flexibility; Impression's challenge is to approach that service level while keeping the all-inclusive promise intact.
Brand Characteristics
Adults-only luxury all-inclusive. All-suite resorts with generous private space. Dedicated butler service. Elevated Endless Privileges®. Artisanal gastronomy and signature dining. Privacy and romantic beachfront settings. Small portfolio - only two operating resorts. World of Hyatt integration.
World of Hyatt
Both operating Impression resorts are now part of World of Hyatt. Their official Hyatt pages explicitly promote earning and using World of Hyatt benefits. World of Hyatt integration gives Impression access to Hyatt's global member base and creates a loyalty bridge between conventional luxury hotels and high-end all-inclusive resorts. Individual award pricing, elite benefits and upgrade eligibility follow current World of Hyatt terms and property rules.

What This Model Does Not Solve
The fundamental challenge is structural: all-inclusive economics reward predictability and controlled consumption, while true luxury often depends on flexibility, exception handling and individual choice. A two-property portfolio also means the brand promise is not yet tested across many destinations, ownership structures or cultures. Finally, Impression remains closely connected to Secrets in its name and operating heritage. To build independent luxury equity, future resorts will need to make 'Impression' itself meaningful rather than relying primarily on the Secrets endorsement.
Conclusion
Impression by Secrets is one of Hyatt's clearest attempts to push the all-inclusive model into genuine luxury hospitality. The brand takes the commercial advantages of Secrets and the Inclusive Collection but changes the emphasis: larger suites, butlers, privacy, curated gastronomy and fewer visible transactions. With only two resorts, Impression is still a young experiment rather than a mature global house. But that small scale is useful: it allows Hyatt to test whether all-inclusive can deliver the intimacy and service expectations of luxury without losing the simplicity that makes the model attractive. If future expansion preserves that balance, Impression could become an important reference point for the next generation of luxury all-inclusive resorts.
