Forte Village Resort

Forte Village Resort is one of the archetypes of the European integrated luxury family resort. On the southern coast of Sardinia, a 123-acre estate combines multiple hotels, exclusive suites and villas, extensive dining, sports academies, thalassotherapy, children’s facilities, entertainment, shopping and events within one controlled destination.

A Resort Rather Than a Hotel

Forte Village cannot be understood through one hotel building. The product is the estate itself: guests select an accommodation tier and then participate in a much larger resort ecosystem.

South Sardinia

The location near Santa Margherita di Pula gives Forte Village a Mediterranean setting of beach, pine and landscaped gardens while remaining within reach of Cagliari and its airport.

123 Acres

The official resort platform describes 123 acres of gardens; sustainability materials describe roughly 50 hectares of parkland. Scale allows accommodation, sport, wellness, family facilities and nightlife to coexist without occupying one central building.

Eight Hotels

The current resort platform presents eight hotels. They are not eight independent destinations but accommodation layers inside one hospitality system.

Forty Exclusive Suites

Forty exclusive suites add another segmentation layer above conventional rooms and bungalows, allowing guests to buy more space, privacy, location and service without leaving the resort ecosystem.

Thirteen Luxury Villas

Thirteen private villas represent the clearest top tier. Each is positioned around seclusion, private garden and private pool while retaining access to the entire resort.

A Luxury Ladder

Forte Village creates a broad internal hierarchy: family bungalows, five-star rooms, executive suites, Waterfront Suites, Villa del Parco and private villas. One estate can therefore serve several definitions of luxury.

Hotel Bouganville

Bouganville is closely associated with family holidays, garden-set accommodation and convenient access to pools, spa, sports and leisure.

Hotel Il Borgo

Il Borgo occupies a higher, greener part of the resort. Family bungalows, private patios and proximity to Children’s Wonderland and water-play areas give it a particularly practical family role.

Hotel Castello Garden Bungalows

Castello Garden Bungalows combine independent family accommodation with personal service and convenient access to sea, pools, Piazza and sports academies.

Hotel Castello Suites

The executive floors and suites at Hotel Castello provide a more private layer, with sea views, dedicated reception and concierge support.

Hotel Le Dune

Le Dune places luxury bungalows and suites in gardens close to the sea and waterfront services, creating a lower-density coastal experience.

Villa del Parco Hotel & Spa

Villa del Parco is one of the most intimate hotel products within the estate. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it sits beside Acquaforte Spa and combines rooms, bungalows and suites with a quieter garden setting.

Waterfront Suites

The Waterfront Suites form a secluded beachfront sanctuary with dedicated concierge, privileged dining access and some of the strongest direct-sea positioning within Forte Village.

The Villas

The villas take the private-house logic furthest. Personal butler service, private gardens and pools allow guests to live independently while using restaurants, academies, entertainment and Acquaforte Spa across the resort.

Privacy Without Isolation

This is one of Forte Village’s strongest structural ideas. Guests can buy substantial privacy without giving up the infrastructure and social life of a large resort.

Dining at Resort Scale

The official platform currently presents 21 restaurants. Dining ranges from large family-friendly buffets to Sardinian cuisine, grills, international concepts and chef-led gourmet restaurants.

Why 21 Restaurants Matter

A family resort depends on length of stay. Restaurant variety prevents a week-long holiday from becoming repetitive and encourages guests to remain within the estate.

Belvedere

Belvedere, on the rooftop terrace of Villa del Parco, is one of the resort’s principal gourmet restaurants and demonstrates how a restaurant can reinforce the identity of a specific accommodation tier.

Ristorante Cracco

The Carlo Cracco restaurant brings a recognisable Italian chef identity into the resort’s culinary ecosystem.

Rocco Iannone Natural Cuisine

Rocco Iannone’s concept reinforces the connection between ingredient sourcing, Italian cooking and contemporary gourmet dining.

Sardinian Cuisine

Dedicated Sardinian food and locally sourced ingredients prevent the resort’s enormous culinary system from becoming entirely international and placeless.

International Dining

Chinese, Indian, Brazilian and other concepts reflect the practical needs of a highly international resort population.

Food as Entertainment

Buffets, live cooking, gourmet dinners and themed venues make dining part of the daily entertainment structure rather than a simple service function.

Acquaforte Thalasso & Spa

Acquaforte is one of Forte Village’s most distinctive assets. Its identity is built around thalassotherapy and the controlled use of seawater at different temperatures and salinity levels.

Thalassotherapy as a Signature

Many luxury resorts have spas; fewer possess a wellness concept sufficiently distinctive to become part of the destination’s identity. Acquaforte gives Forte Village that differentiation.

Medical and Performance Layer

The spa also uses consultations, clinical testing and performance-oriented programmes. Wellness therefore extends beyond massage into structured assessment and recovery.

Private Spa

Private spa options allow villa and high-end guests to experience the wellness infrastructure with greater seclusion.

Wellness and Sardinia

The resort increasingly connects wellness to Sardinia’s wider association with longevity and Blue Zone lifestyles, linking food, movement, nature and community to the spa proposition.

Sports as a Core Product

Sport at Forte Village is not a secondary recreation desk. Academies, courts, fields, coaching and seasonal festivals make sport one of the principal reasons families choose the resort.

Football Academy

The 2026 Sport Festival programme includes Real Madrid coaching, continuing Forte Village’s long practice of attaching globally recognised sporting expertise to family training.

Tennis

Tennis has deep infrastructure and tournament relevance at the resort, including resident coaching and ITF tournaments.

Padel

Padel expands the racquet-sport layer and responds to one of Europe’s fastest-growing leisure sports.

Fencing

Fencing programmes associated with champions such as Valentina Vezzali illustrate the breadth of disciplines beyond conventional resort sports.

Boxing

Boxing academies and specialist coaching add another performance-oriented discipline.

Swimming

Swimming coaching allows pools to function as training infrastructure as well as leisure amenities.

Rugby

Rugby academies extend the appeal to families from markets where the sport has strong cultural importance.

Cycling

Road and mountain-bike programmes use Sardinia itself as a sports environment rather than keeping activity entirely inside the resort.

Triathlon

The Forte Village Triathlon combines swimming, cycling and running and gives the estate an event identity beyond everyday resort recreation.

A Multi-Sport Festival

The 2026 Sport Festival programme spans football, fencing, cycling, boxing, swimming, rugby, triathlon, hockey, table tennis, netball, go-kart, rowing, beach volleyball, tennis and padel.

Why Branded Sport Works

Parents can buy a recognisable coaching proposition rather than an anonymous children’s activity. Famous athletes and established clubs lend credibility and aspiration.

Children’s Wonderland

Children’s Wonderland is a dedicated family infrastructure layer rather than a small hotel kids club. Its scale helps parents treat childcare and play as dependable parts of the holiday.

Family Bungalows

Connecting and family-configured bungalows show that family design begins with accommodation planning, not only daytime programming.

Teenagers

Sport, go-karting, nightlife, shopping and social spaces give older children reasons to remain engaged after they have outgrown conventional kids clubs.

Parents’ Freedom

The deeper family-luxury proposition is time. When children have credible programmes and safe infrastructure, adults gain the freedom to use spa, restaurants, beach and private spaces.

Forte Arena

The open-air Forte Arena gives the resort an entertainment venue capable of hosting concerts and major events.

Piazza and Nightlife

Shopping, bars, wine experiences, bowling and go-karting create an evening economy that keeps the estate active after beach and sport hours.

Fashion and Events

The resort has hosted major fashion events, including Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda in 2024, demonstrating its ability to operate as a high-capacity luxury event platform.

Cinema

The Filming Italy Sardegna Festival adds another cultural and media layer, connecting the resort to international cinema and Sardinian destination promotion.

Conference Infrastructure

Forte Village also operates substantial conference and event facilities. Corporate and group demand therefore sits alongside family leisure.

The Resort as a Village

The name Forte Village is operationally accurate: hotels, restaurants, sport, spa, shops, entertainment and internal transport create the functions of a small seasonal settlement.

Internal Mobility

Traditional cars are not allowed inside the resort; electric golf carts and bicycles are used by guests and staff. Mobility is both an operational and sustainability system.

Landscape as Infrastructure

Gardens are not decorative margins. They separate accommodation zones, create shade and privacy, soften the resort’s scale and support biodiversity.

Biodiversity

Forte Village describes its roughly 50 hectares of parkland as a biodiversity environment with hundreds of plant species and nature-based education.

Nature Park

The Nature Park adds native and domestic animals and turns biodiversity into a family learning experience.

Renewable Energy

Solar thermal installations, photovoltaic systems and a 22,000 sqm photovoltaic plant have increased the resort’s renewable-energy capacity to 1.4 MW.

Local Employment

Forte Village states that 87% of staff come from Sardinia and more than 94% from South Sardinia, making local employment a significant part of its sustainability model.

Hotel Business School

Founded in 2008 with Luiss Business School, the Hotel Business School by Forte Village connects the resort to professional hospitality education and local talent development.

Sustainable Renovation

Renovations increasingly use locally sourced wood, granite, travertine and Orosei marble and are designed to reduce visual and environmental impact.

A Luxury Event Machine

The same infrastructure that serves families can be reconfigured for fashion, cinema, sport and corporate events. This diversifies demand and raises destination visibility.

Seasonality

South Sardinia remains strongly seasonal. Forte Village turns concentrated summer demand into energy and breadth, but large physical infrastructure requires careful shoulder-season and maintenance planning.

Comparison with Sani Resort

Sani and Forte Village are close strategic peers. Sani is organised around five strongly differentiated hotels, a Marina and a protected natural estate; Forte Village is more internally dense and sports-intensive, with a broader accommodation ladder and a particularly distinctive thalassotherapy proposition.

Comparison with Ikos

Ikos simplifies family luxury through ultra-inclusive pricing and a tightly defined service system. Forte Village offers a more open, choice-heavy resort economy with many accommodation and dining tiers.

Comparison with Costa Navarino

Costa Navarino is a broader regional destination-development platform with global hotel brands, golf and residences. Forte Village is more concentrated as one privately controlled resort ecosystem.

Comparison with Club Med

Club Med systematises family sport and entertainment through an all-inclusive global model. Forte Village is more luxury-segmented, gastronomically complex and dependent on individual hotel and villa tiers.

Comparison with One&Only

One&Only typically builds around one ultra-luxury hotel identity. Forte Village creates its top end through private villas, Waterfront Suites and Villa del Parco inside a much larger family resort.

Luxury Through Abundance

Forte Village expresses luxury through abundance of choice: accommodation, restaurants, sport, wellness, shopping, events and children’s activities.

Luxury Through Segmentation

Abundance only works because the estate is segmented. Different hotels, villas, restaurants and service privileges create hierarchy inside a very large resort.

Luxury Through Logistics

For families, the strongest luxury can be the removal of logistical friction: childcare, coaching, dining choice, internal transport, medical support and entertainment are already inside the estate.

The Repeat Family

The resort is structurally suited to repeat families because accommodation can change as children grow and budgets, privacy requirements and interests evolve.

What the Model Does Not Solve

Forte Village cannot eliminate the trade-offs of scale. The estate can feel complex, shared facilities can become busy in peak periods, and guests seeking extreme simplicity or isolation may prefer a smaller resort. Its enormous infrastructure also demands continual capital investment, staffing and maintenance.

What Distinguishes Forte Village

123 ACRES / APPROXIMATELY 50 HECTARES. 8 HOTELS. 40 EXCLUSIVE SUITES. 13 PRIVATE-POOL VILLAS. 21 RESTAURANTS. ACQUAFORTE THALASSO & SPA AS A TRUE SIGNATURE. ONE OF EUROPE’S DEEPEST MULTI-SPORT FAMILY PROGRAMMES. CHILDREN’S WONDERLAND. FORTE ARENA AND MAJOR EVENTS. A RESORT LARGE ENOUGH TO FUNCTION AS A PRIVATE SEASONAL VILLAGE.

The Strategic Achievement

Forte Village’s achievement is not simply size. It is the conversion of size into a luxury ladder: a family can occupy a practical bungalow, an executive suite, a secluded spa hotel, a beachfront suite or a private villa while sharing one extraordinary depth of resort infrastructure.

The Hospitality Lesson

The Forte Village lesson is that integrated family luxury depends on orchestration. Sport, childcare, dining, wellness, entertainment, accommodation hierarchy and landscape must operate as one system; otherwise abundance becomes complexity.

Editorial Note

LHL classifies Forte Village Resort as an integrated luxury family resort destination rather than a single hotel. Its strategic significance lies in the depth of the complete estate and the way multiple accommodation tiers share one unusually rich operating platform.
