Fasano is Brazil's great hospitality family: restaurateurs since 1902, hoteliers since Rogério Fasano opened Hotel Fasano São Paulo in 2003 with interiors by Isay Weinfeld. The collection grew along Brazil's leisure map — Rio's Ipanema seafront (designed with Philippe Starck), Angra dos Reis, Trancoso, the Boa Vista countryside estate, Salvador — and crossed borders to Punta del Este and New York's Fifth Avenue. By August 2026 Fasano is Latin America's definitive luxury hotel house, still family-led in its fourth generation.
The brand
Fasano's authority begins at the table: a century of São Paulo gastronomy gives the hotels a culinary spine no competitor matches, and every property is anchored by a Fasano restaurant. The design register — Weinfeld's modernism, wood, leather, bossa-era glamour — made the brand the visual definition of contemporary Brazilian luxury.
The portfolio pairs city flagships with a leisure constellation: Angra's island coast, Trancoso's Bahian beach, Boa Vista's fazenda golf estate, Punta del Este's pampas resort. New York extended the maison internationally as a members-flavoured Fifth Avenue house. JHSF's development partnership supplies real-estate scale while the family holds the identity.
Brand philosophy
Fasano's philosophy is hospitality as gastronomy extended: the hotel exists around the restaurant's standards of product, service and glamour. The houses are social stages — bars and dining rooms where the cities' lives actually happen — rather than sealed guest environments.
Brazilian modernism is the second conviction: that Brazil's own design lineage, music and manner constitute a complete luxury language. The brand exports this confidence rather than importing international codes.
What distinguishes it
A century of the table. Restaurateurs since 1902 — the hotels inherit gastronomy as their founding competence.
Weinfeld's blueprint. Isay Weinfeld's São Paulo house set the modernist-glamour register the collection still speaks.
The Brazilian leisure map. City, island coast, Bahian beach, fazenda and pampas within one family's houses.
Social centrality. Fasano bars and restaurants are where Rio and São Paulo society meets — the hotels host their cities.
Family in the fourth generation. Rogério Fasano's personal authorship keeps the brand a maison rather than a managed flag.
Fasano is a weak fit for travellers seeking quiet anonymity, resort-scale facilities for children or international-chain consistency. The houses are social, design-conscious and Brazilian in rhythm; service warmth is Latin rather than protocol-ceremonial. Guests wanting seclusion from scene, or points ecosystems, should look elsewhere — Fasano is Brazil's glamour, hosted by its founding family.
