Comlux is the only entry in this Part that does all three things at once: it sells the aircraft, fits it out, and then operates it for you.
Position
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Zürich, Comlux runs aircraft operations, charter management, aircraft sales and completions from a single group. Its completion centre is in Indianapolis and holds FAA supplemental type certificates in its own right. The fleet runs to twenty-two aircraft under four operating certificates — Malta, Aruba, Kazakhstan and San Marino — with offices in Zürich, Moscow, Almaty and Hong Kong.
Why it is in the Library
Richard Gaona is LHL-P-330 Richard Gaona, and the entry exists because of what he assembled rather than what the company owns. Everywhere else in private aviation these functions are separate businesses that distrust one another: the broker, the completion house, the operator. Comlux is the integrated version, and the argument for it is the same argument a hotel group makes for owning its own operator — that the guest experiences one thing and should be sold one thing.
What this model does not solve
Four operating certificates across four jurisdictions is a structure built for tax and traffic rights rather than for the passenger, and it is the part of private aviation the industry does not discuss. Vertical integration also removes the check that comes from a client being free to take the completion elsewhere.
