1 · POSITION
⚑ This entry is a placeholder and says so. Carl G. Fisher is nominated by the Private Residences register as an author of places, on the ground that he made Miami Beach and later attempted the same at Montauk. The Library has admitted the code so that records citing him have somewhere to point, and has not yet researched him.
2 · ⚑ WHAT IS NOT ESTABLISHED
Everything: his dates, how he acquired the land, what he built, what the Montauk venture was and how it ended. Nothing in this entry rests on a source the Library has read. It will be written properly or the code will stand as a row; under §6.1 the address does not move either way.
