Renova

Renova is the holding of Viktor Vekselberg. Skoltech's biography states that he co-founded Renova Group with partners in 1990; he was born in 1957 and graduated from the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers in 1979. Its hotel work, on the sources read, is one project: the Olympic complex in the Imeretinskaya lowland at Adler, built by its real-estate arm, now Kortros. [1,4,6]

The Plan Of 2011

On 30 June 2011 RBC reported that Renova-StroyGroup would invest more than $500 million in 3,600 rooms of three- and four-star hotels and apartments on 35 hectares, on plots earlier meant for a 5,000-room scheme of Telman Ismailov's AST, with commissioning hoped for by the end of 2012. Lenta, on 19 September 2011, gave $600 million, more than half lent by Vnesheconombank, 183,000 m² on 34.5 hectares, the Park Inn brand of Rezidor Hotel Group, and completion "в начале лета 2013 года". Two Hotels Under Azimut

What was delivered was not a Park Inn. RBC's report of 9 December 2013 names the complex Azimut Hotels Sochi, managed by AZIMUT Hotels under a long-term contract and developed by Kortros: the four-star Azimut Hotel Resort & SPA Sochi with 720 rooms and the three-star Azimut Hotel Sochi with 2,880, on 36 hectares, "крупнейший гостиничный комплекс в Европе по территории и объему номерного фонда". It housed the Sochi Media Village for journalists during the Games and was then to trade all year for families and conferences.

Disposal

The four-star house went first. Rambler, citing Kommersant on 29 December 2016, reports that Kortros had handed the 720-room hotel to the Sirius educational centre two years before, and had now sold the 2,880-room three-star hotel to OOO Yug-Biznespartner, price undisclosed. The two hotels together are estimated to have cost 14 billion roubles to build. In September 2016 Vedomosti still described the Azimut hotel as belonging to Renova, with more than 3,600 rooms. [5,6]

Kamchatka

On 3 September 2024 Mail.ru Finance, citing Kommersant, reported a new company, Voskhod Eko, registered at the address of the Voskhod children's camp in Kamchatka, with Vekselberg as ultimate beneficiary through RAM LLC; investment was preliminarily estimated at three to four billion roubles. This is a registration and an estimate, not a hotel.

Editorial note — ⚑ No source read gives an exact opening date for the Sochi complex; the December 2013 report and its use at the Games are what is established. ⚑ Investment figures differ: more than $500 million (RBC, June 2011) against $600 million (Lenta, September 2011); site area 34.5, 35 or 36 hectares. ⚑ The Park Inn by Rezidor brand announced in 2011 was not the brand used. ⚑ The date of the transfer to Sirius is inferred as 2014 from "two years before"; no transfer document was read.
