1 · POSITION
Philippine Airlines calls the business cabin of its Airbus A350-1000 Mabuhay Studios. The cabin holds 42 full-flat suites with sliding doors, arranged 1-2-1, each with direct aisle access and a vanity mirror of its own. Seat pitch runs to 112cm with a width of 51cm, inside a 382-seat three-class layout. The door, rather than the flat bed, is what the airline has added to a product it was already flying. [1, 2]
2 · WHO DREW THE CABIN
The interior is credited to the Tokyo-based LIFT Aero Design studio, reported to mark nearly twenty years of the airline working with it. The theme is the Sunrise motif the airline also carries on its livery. In business the seat trim and finish blends slate blue with champagne gold, with wood-look inlays on the meal tables and a brushed silver logo. Partitions, carpet and seat covers are drawn into the same scheme. [1]
3 · LIGHT TREATED AS PART OF THE SERVICE
The studio made twelve new mood lighting scenarios for the A350-1000, bringing the total to 22. They are named for occasions rather than for hours: a bronze Candlelight Dining scene for long-haul flights, a Rose Gold version for regional flights, Ocean and Spa for relaxation, and Valentine’s Day, Head of State, Sustainability and a National Flag scene for arrivals in Manila. Lighting is handled here as a service, not as fitting-out. [1]
4 · WHAT IS FITTED AT THE SEAT
Each suite is equipped with a 20-inch 4K inflight entertainment display, a wireless charging dock and AC, USB-A and USB-C power. Wi-fi is complimentary for business class passengers. Behind the suites a 24-seat premium economy cabin is laid out 2-4-2 with a seat pitch of 97cm, and economy follows in 3-4-3. The fourth aircraft of the type touched down at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 19.22 on 2 September 2026. [1, 2]
5 · ⚑ CANDOUR
⚑ No page published by Philippine Airlines could be retrieved for this entry, because its product pages did not render; the figures above come from trade and travel press. The register’s note that this was the first commercial airline in Asia, founded in 1941, is the register’s own and was established by no source fetched here. Every dimension belongs to the Airbus A350-1000 and not to the rest of the fleet. The count of lighting scenes is the designer’s. [1–2]
