Opening
Domes Resorts is one of the most ambitious luxury hospitality platforms to emerge from Greece in the twenty-first century. Beginning with Crete and the success of Domes of Elounda, the group developed from a resort operator into a multi-concept Mediterranean hospitality house spanning Greece, Portugal and Spain. Its contemporary identity combines resort real estate, design, gastronomy, local culture and international distribution partnerships rather than relying on one rigid hotel prototype.
The 2008 Starting Point
Domes identifies its resort story as beginning in 2008. The formative property was Domes of Elounda on Crete, overlooking Spinalonga. The resort established several ideas that later became recurring Domes signatures: suite- and villa-led accommodation, private pools and jacuzzis, strong family capability, destination experiences, design with local references and a premium layer above the standard product.
Domes of Elounda remains the mother property in strategic terms. It demonstrated that a Greek operator could build a recognisable luxury language and then use international soft-brand distribution without surrendering its own identity.
From Ledra Hotels to a Domes Platform
The corporate history is connected with Ledra Hotels & Villas, which has owned and developed a substantial part of the portfolio. Over time, Domes became the outward-facing hospitality identity and the stronger organising brand.
For LHL, Domes should therefore be treated as more than a marketing label attached to unrelated resorts. It has increasingly become an operating system with shared concepts, service ideas, F&B thinking and brand architecture, even though individual properties retain unusually strong personalities.
The Five-Brand Architecture
By 2026 Domes presents five distinct families: Domes Reserves, Domes Originals, Domes Noruz, Domes Finds and Domes Aulūs. This is the decisive transition from a collection of resorts into a genuine portfolio architecture.
Reserves is built around destination-defining landmark escapes and rarity. Originals covers refined design-led luxury lifestyle resorts. Noruz is adults-only, social and nightlife-oriented. Finds gathers smaller concept-driven stays. Aulūs applies an upscale Ultra All-Inclusive model. The structure allows growth without forcing every property into the same guest proposition.
Domes Reserves — The Upper Tier
Domes Reserves is the clearest expression of the group’s upward luxury ambition: privileged Mediterranean addresses, architectural distinction, cultural depth, haute gastronomy, wellness and discreet service.
Domes of Elounda, Domes Miramare Corfu, Domes Zeen Chania, Domes White Coast Milos and 91 Athens Riviera illustrate the upper narrative. They are deliberately different products; their common denominator is rarity, destination strength and a stronger sense of authorship.
Domes Originals
Domes Originals is the broader luxury-lifestyle core, combining contemporary design, signature gastronomy, local culture and warm service in established destinations. Properties presented in this family include Domes Novos Santorini, Domes of Corfu, Domes Lake Algarve and Domes Baobab Suites Tenerife.
The category creates useful distance between the rarefied Reserve proposition and a conventional upscale tier: Originals remain full luxury lifestyle resorts, but with a broader guest proposition.
Domes Noruz — Adults-Only Lifestyle
Noruz is Domes’ most explicit lifestyle sub-brand. It is adults-only, design-led and oriented toward sophisticated social energy, nightlife, mixology, music and destination access. Domes Noruz Chania is the defining property, combining beachfront Chania with contemporary Greek design, plunge-pool accommodation, wellness and curated evening life.
Domes Noruz Kassandra moves the idea closer to a beach-club atmosphere. Noruz is therefore not simply “Domes without children”; it is a distinct social proposition for design-aware adults.
Domes Finds — Small Scale and Discovery
Domes Finds gives the portfolio a flexible home for rare, concept-driven and often smaller stays. It allows Domes to work with strong individual narratives without requiring the infrastructure of a full resort.
Neema Maison Finikia Santorini, Agali Hotel Paxos, Pleiades Blossomhill Houses and Helestia Pocket Hotel illustrate the direction. Strategically, Finds gives Domes a format for intimate hotels in destinations where a large resort would be inappropriate.
Domes Aulūs — Ultra All-Inclusive
Aulūs is the group’s answer to premium all-inclusive hospitality. Domes describes the concept as Ultra All-Inclusive: beachfront resorts with all-day food culture, entertainment, wellness and daily comforts wrapped into a simplified stay.
Domes Aulūs Elounda, Domes Aulūs Zante, Aulūs Lindos Rhodes and Aulūs Chania place Domes in a segment historically dominated by large leisure operators while preserving a more design- and gastronomy-conscious identity.
Domes of Elounda — The Foundational Resort
Domes of Elounda remains the foundational property. Facing the Venetian fortress of Spinalonga, it combines suites, residences and villas, many with private pools or jacuzzis, with restaurants, SOMA Spa, family programming and the CORE open-air social complex.
Its domed forms, stone, Mediterranean materials and hillside integration helped establish the Domes visual language. More importantly, Elounda created the operating logic of a broad luxury resort base with higher private-pool categories and an elite service tier.
Haute Living Selection
Haute Living Selection is one of Domes’ most transferable signatures. It operates as a hotel-within-a-hotel layer for selected premium accommodation. Benefits can include a private Haute Living Room, dedicated concierge communication, upgraded amenities, enhanced dining and exclusive services.
The concept allows a large resort to serve families and a broad luxury audience while creating a more controlled experience for its highest-paying guests. It is a recognisable Domes mechanism that can travel across different properties.
CORE — Resort as Social Village
CORE is another distinctive Domes idea. At Domes of Elounda it functions as an open-air social and cultural hub where pop-up retail, street-style dining, art, performances and events meet.
Instead of treating the resort simply as accommodation around pools, CORE creates a village-like centre and a reason to gather. At its best it also becomes a platform for local makers, designers, food and cultural programming.
SOMA Spa and Wellness
SOMA is a recurring wellness language across much of the portfolio. Treatments vary by destination, but the concept generally combines contemporary spa rituals with local botanical, cultural or landscape references.
Domes is not a medical or longevity platform. Wellness remains one component in a wider lifestyle system alongside gastronomy, beach, family, culture and social life.
Family Hospitality — KiEPOS and Beyond
Domes has developed unusually visible family infrastructure for a luxury lifestyle operator. At family-oriented properties, Montessori-inspired KiEPOS programming, eco-gardens, kids and teen zones and destination activities attempt to make children part of the resort concept rather than an afterthought.
This gives the group useful duality: it can operate adults-only properties while competing strongly for affluent multigenerational travel at Elounda, Corfu and other family resorts.
Gastronomy as a Brand Engine
Food is increasingly central to Domes. Signature restaurants, local ingredients, chef collaborations and destination-led concepts are treated as brand material rather than supporting resort infrastructure. Makris Fine Dining in Athens has become a visible expression of this ambition.
The Vilebrequin La Plage collaboration at Domes of Elounda demonstrates another direction: hospitality intersecting with fashion, beach culture and restaurant concepts. This moves Domes closer to contemporary lifestyle luxury.
Design and Locality
Domes does not impose one architectural template. The shared principle is to interpret local geography and culture through contemporary design. Crete uses stone, domed forms and earth tones; Santorini and Milos respond to Cycladic landscape; Corfu draws on Ionian and aristocratic references; Algarve properties adapt to Portuguese resort context.
The approach creates greater visual diversity than a hard brand but requires strong creative control. A successful Domes property should feel unmistakably of its destination while still carrying recognisable service and experience concepts.
Marriott — Scale Without Surrendering the Brand
A major part of Domes’ growth has been its use of Marriott soft brands. Domes of Elounda, Domes Noruz Chania, Domes of Corfu and Domes Aulūs Zante have operated within Autograph Collection, while Domes Miramare and Domes Zeen have been associated with The Luxury Collection.
These relationships provide global distribution, Marriott Bonvoy and international credibility while the Domes name remains highly visible. Domes is a strong European example of a regional operator using a global soft brand as infrastructure rather than surrendering the primary identity.
Other Global Affiliations
Domes’ distribution strategy is not exclusively Marriott. Domes Aulūs Elounda has also been associated with Hilton’s Curio Collection, demonstrating a property-level approach to global affiliation.
Accordingly, Domes cannot be assigned one proprietary loyalty programme. Loyalty is Third-party and should be recorded property by property: Marriott Bonvoy is important across Marriott-affiliated resorts, while other properties may use other ecosystems or none.
Expansion Beyond Greece
Domes began as a Greek resort story but now operates beyond Greece. Portugal became an important second market through the Algarve, while Tenerife extends the platform into Spain.
The international test is whether the “Domes way” remains meaningful when Greek hospitality is no longer the local cultural reference. The portfolio architecture helps: Domes can export operating principles — design, locality, gastronomy, social concepts and layered luxury — rather than Greek decorative language.
Luxury Positioning
Domes occupies a broad but coherent band from upper-luxury lifestyle to genuine luxury resort. The strongest properties, especially in the Reserve tier, can compete with established international luxury resorts on design, accommodation, gastronomy and destination appeal. Others are more accessible, family-oriented or all-inclusive.
For LHL, Domes is best classified as a Luxury Resort & Lifestyle Platform with tiered sub-brands rather than one uniform luxury level.
What Distinguishes Domes Resorts
GREEK-BORN, INTERNATIONALLY SCALABLE. Domes grew from Crete into a multi-country Mediterranean platform.
FIVE-BRAND ARCHITECTURE. Reserves, Originals, Noruz, Finds and Aulūs allow differentiated growth.
HAUTE LIVING SELECTION. A recognisable hotel-within-a-hotel premium layer.
SOFT-BRAND EXPERTISE. Global affiliations are used as distribution infrastructure without erasing Domes identity.
DESIGN + LOCAL CULTURE. Properties can look different while sharing a common philosophy.
GASTRONOMY AND SOCIAL LIFE. Restaurants, CORE, collaborations and events are central.
FAMILY / ADULTS-ONLY DUALITY. The portfolio addresses both multigenerational travel and sophisticated adult lifestyle demand.
PREMIUM ALL-INCLUSIVE. Aulūs expands the platform without adopting mass-market resort language.
What the Model Does Not Solve
The breadth of Domes is also its principal challenge. A Reserve, a Noruz beach-club resort, a small Finds hotel and an Aulūs all-inclusive property can deliver very different levels of privacy, service intensity and physical product. The umbrella therefore requires precise sub-brand communication.
Soft-brand affiliations add another layer: guests may perceive a property as Marriott, Hilton or Domes depending on booking channel and loyalty relationship. The long-term test is whether Domes becomes strong enough that the international affiliation is understood primarily as infrastructure.

Booking with LVXVRY
Domes should be booked at property and sub-brand level, not simply by the umbrella name. At Domes of Elounda, accommodation collection and Haute Living Selection materially change the experience. At Noruz, room privacy, plunge pool and proximity to social areas matter. At Aulūs, inclusions and premium tiers are central. At Marriott-affiliated hotels, Marriott Bonvoy status and points eligibility should be checked against the exact rate, while advisor benefits and Domes-specific privileges should be evaluated separately.
Editorial Note
This entry reflects the Domes portfolio architecture visible in 2026: Domes Reserves, Domes Originals, Domes Noruz, Domes Finds and Domes Aulūs. The portfolio is evolving quickly through openings, conversions, acquisitions and international affiliations, so individual property flags and loyalty participation require periodic verification. LHL treats Domes as the primary hospitality platform and global soft-brand relationships as property-level distribution and affiliation layers rather than replacements for the Domes identity.
