1 · POSITION
China Airlines calls its long-haul business product Premium Business Class and names the seat a Full-Flat Seat, describing higher partitions for privacy. A cocktail table and wireless charging are listed at the seat, and the cabin carries complimentary Wi-Fi and active noise-cancelling headphones. The airline states that actual configuration varies by aircraft type, and that features may vary according to route and aircraft configuration. No aircraft type is named for the seat on either page. 2 · WOOD, STONE AND A BUTTERFLY
The airline’s design account describes entryways finished in persimmon wood grain, a material it says also appears in the new B777 and A350 fleets. On the A321neo that wood is paired with a natural stone finish that has a crafted application of gradient colours, and with reflective metallic screen-printing. The business cabin there is drawn from a mountain teahouse and the economy cabin from a lively city. The persimmon stands for wishfulness; the butterfly, Fu Dia, blesses the arriving passenger. [3]
3 · THE BREAD IS NAMED BY ITS BAKER
On 3 January 2024 the airline announced breads developed for it by Yao-hsun Chen, master baker at Yoshi Bakery, to be served in all cabin classes on all flights departing from Taiwan. Business Class rotates between a Strawberry Bread and a Sweet Potato Cheese Bread. The strawberry loaf uses dried strawberries from Dahu in Miaoli, rehydrated in strawberry wine. Naming a supplier and a growing district turns a bread roll into a sourced object. [4]
4 · A LOUNGE SERVICE IN THE AIR
The same announcement sets out a Sky Lounge service on long-haul routes flown by 777-300ER and A350-900 aircraft, stocked with regional snacks from small farmers. Named items include a Herb Red Quinoa Chunky Bar from Gaea Farm in Hualien and a Brown Sugar Sesame Roll from Sun Hope Veg in Yilan. The cabin menu itself is built with named restaurants: Le Palais, T+T, MIPON, TOUTOUAN, MOONMOON FOOD and Yang Ming Spring. The travel kit is a collaboration with Marc Jacobs and the Danish label FRAMA. [1, 4]
5 · ⚑ CANDOUR
⚑ No page fetched names a designer or a studio for any cabin, and none dates the Full-Flat Seat. The design account describes the A321neo interior; the persimmon wood is said to extend to the B777 and A350, but the account does not transfer the narrowbody cabin to them. The bread programme is stated for flights departing Taiwan, not for the whole network. The restaurant and fashion partnerships are the airline’s own description. [1–4]
