1 · POSITION
Belmond Trains & Cruises gives the hotel room a moving address. The company's reporting identifies trains and cruises as a distinct operating division; its guest offer stretches from a sleeper crossing the Peruvian Andes to a privately chartered boat in Champagne. The journey between places becomes the setting for meals, sleep and observation. [1–3]
2 · A BEDROOM ABOVE THE PLAINS
Andean Explorer has 35 sleeper cabins and operates between Cusco, Puno and Arequipa. Its two-night Peruvian Highlands journey connects Cusco with Arequipa by way of Lake Titicaca. Full-board dining, excursions and a bar make the train an inhabited itinerary, allowing passengers to remain within one hospitality arrangement as the landscape changes outside. [2]
3 · CARRIAGES WITH SEPARATE PURPOSES
The train's accommodation is supported by two dining cars, a piano bar, a spa carriage and an open-air observation car. That last space matters: the view can be experienced beyond the bedroom window. Belmond also lists oxygen enrichment among the train's features. These details describe a purpose-built response to travelling and sleeping at altitude, with social and private spaces distributed along the train. [2]
4 · CHAMPAGNE FOR SIX
Coquelicot works at a much smaller scale. The Belmond boat accommodates six guests in three cabins, with marble bathrooms, an indoor dining room and a large upper-deck lounge. Its Champagne setting gives the voyage a regional focus, while the private crew and chef make the vessel suitable for a single travelling party. The comparison with Andean Explorer reveals considerable variety beneath the division's name: different speeds, landscapes and degrees of privacy. [3]
5 · ⚑ CANDOUR
⚑ These examples describe particular products, not standard facilities across every Belmond train or boat. A sleeper, a day train and a private barge carry different expectations. Trains & Cruises is used here as a portfolio heading, not as a separate hotel brand. [1–3]
