1 · POSITION

On 16 July 2025 Aegean announced two Airbus A321neo XLR aircraft in a customised configuration of 138 seats, of which twenty-four are Business Class Suites with fully lie-flat beds, increased privacy and full aisle access. The airline plans five weekly flights to New Delhi from March 2026 and three weekly to Mumbai from May 2026. A single-aisle aircraft is being furnished with a room of a kind usually built into a widebody. [3]

2 · SPACE WAS COMMITTED BEFORE THE SEAT WAS SHOWN

The commitment was made earlier. On 17 April 2024 the airline announced four extended-range A321neos with a seat count reduced from 220 in its standard version to less than 180, a lie-flat Business Class product, entertainment screens in every seat and satellite connectivity. Delivery was given as 2026 and 2027. What was bought first was floor area; the furniture was to be shown at a later event. [2]

3 · THE LOUNGE IS A PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

Aegean’s business lounge in the extra-Schengen area at Athens airport welcomed its first guest on 2 April 2022 and occupies 1,250 square metres. It was designed by the architect team K-Studio in materials given as marble, terrazzo, glass and wood. Inside are a media lounge for networking, a social lounge, a quiet lounge for extra relaxation, meeting rooms, two cafeterias and a restaurant with a wine bar. [1]

4 · GREEK PRODUCERS SET THE TABLE

The airline states that all warm and cold dishes, and the wines offered, come mainly from fine Greek producers, and presents this as a way of carrying Greek culture into the building. Admission is given to Business Class and Miles+Bonus Gold passengers and to members of the Star Alliance network. The lounge is therefore described twice over: as a work of architecture and as a national larder. [1]

5 · ⚑ CANDOUR

⚑ The suites were announced, not observed: nothing fetched here shows them in service, and the delivery and route dates are the airline’s plan as stated in 2024 and 2025. Less than 180 seats is a ceiling rather than a configuration. No fetched page describes the meal served in the air, as distinct from the food in the lounge. The register’s founding year of 1987 is not established by anything fetched here. [1–3]
